Kamen, September 2nd, 2019 - Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG has developed a new current collector that can be installed in most crane systems of all suppliers worldwide: the Multi Collect 125. With this new development, the Kamen-based manufacturer of energy and data transmission systems for mobile industrial applications has reduced the complexity of the various types of current collectors to a minimum. In addition, the new standard solution is more efficient and less expensive than its predecessors.
"With our new current collector, we can significantly reduce costs and designs in just one single solution," says Sergej Nickel, Product Manager at Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG. With the Multi Collect 125, the company from Kamen has launched a multifunctional product on the market that reliably supplies numerous crane systems with energy and increases their efficiency. The system allows currents of up to 125 amperes and a travel speed of up to 600 meters per minute. "The result is extremely high efficiency," says Nickel. The Multi Collect 125 now replaces numerous current collectors from the KST, KSTL and KSTLU series. It is also supplied as standard for all busbars of U15 and U25 crane systems.
Efficient solution that can be installed easily and cost-effectively
The Multi Collect 125 can be used variably as a standard solution and is compatible with numerous crane systems which are currently available. On one hand, it is connected via single or double standard cables with all cable cross-sections from 2.5 to 10 mm². On the other hand, the connection box can be removed, for example if there is no installation space. Therefore, no special connections are required to use the solution. The Multi Collect 125 also has automatic centering for funnel entrances and a travel tolerance of up to 40 mm in all directions. Nickel: "The fact that customers only need one current collector for different crane systems increases the application availability enormously".
Multi Collect 125 increases the reliability of the system
Compared to its predecessors, the new product is up to 24 per Cent cheaper. "The Multi Collect 125 is easy to install, which means it can be installed quickly and inexpensively," explains Nickel. The reason for this is the automatic spacing adjustment of the phase distance and the visual installation dimension check. Further savings result from the fact that it can be connected to different cable cross-sections, eliminating the need for costly and highly flexible connections.
